She's one of the best nurses I've ever had, and I was so lucky to have such a great team.
Tara Werry went above and beyond for me. She took care of me when I gave birth to my first baby. Four days prior, I went into labor and delivery feeling unwell. My baby was trying to come too early due to high blood pressure and high liver enzymes. I was extremely nervous about potentially having a baby that night, but Tara knew exactly how to calm my nerves. She joked with me, asked to see pictures of my dogs, and sat down to talk with me about what was making me nervous. She reassured me that everything was alright, and that I would be taken care of. She was my nurse again 4 days later when I was being induced to have my son. I was having a rough time, in full blown, very painful labor, but was so excited to see her clock in that night as my nurse. She talked me through the epidural and let me know how well I was doing and checked on me often. She collaborated with another nurse when things started to get questionable, and their teamwork was incredible. They both came in to reposition me, check my contraction strips, and listened to baby. They walked me through every step and informed me about everything that was happening with me and my baby.

My baby was not doing well through contractions, and I ended up needing a c-section. I was very nervous again, but also felt confident that Tara and my doctors would take good care of me. She came in to help me get ready and, by joking with me and discussing random things, helped lighten the mood again. Throughout the entire procedure, she reassured me that I was doing well and that everything was okay. When my baby came out, she took such good care of him. She told me how cute he was and that he would be just fine. Afterwards, she helped me get started with breastfeeding and was there for every question and concern that I had for the rest of the night. I am so grateful for her. She's one of the best nurses I've ever had, and I was so lucky to have such a great team. She was more than understanding, with an amazing sense of compassion and teamwork. I hope that she'll be there when I have my next baby in the future. I will never forget Tara. She showed me true compassion and empathy. She is the type of nurse that others should look up to. She knows how to lighten the mood while remaining professional. She is an exceptional nurse and a remarkable human being.
