Tarryn clocked in as my nurse during the middle of my induction on the labor/delivery unit. I was suffering from severe anxiety following a very traumatic first birth two years prior. Tarryn did not know this, but regardless, she provided trauma-informed care and was with me every step of the way. Tarryn worked diligently to explain every procedure and provide reassurance and comfort throughout my stay. There was a pivotal point in my labor where if she had not provided nursing interventions, I could have potentially required a C-section, but she stayed by my bedside and repositioned me every thirty minutes to ensure I went into active labor and the baby descended while ensuring the safety of my baby. When it was time to push, she educated me before beginning and then coached me and cheered me on the entire time. The nursing care that Tarryn provided led the way to the most healing experience I could have possibly had after a traumatic first birth. I left the labor/delivery unit feeling so empowered and truly feeling like my birth experience as a mother had been redeemed. I know that it wouldn't have been possible without Tarryn's care.
