I have been a student of Professor Burhanna for three years now. She has been an excellent source of support for me throughout my education, and she goes the extra mile to ensure that I have all the tools necessary to be successful in my future career. Not only is Taryn an exceptional educator, but she is also an incredible role model of how I hope to be as a nurse. During the pandemic, Taryn stepped up and organized COVID-19 testing events as well as vaccine clinics. She has shown me the role of nursing in the community and how in my career I can make a difference beyond the bedside.

Professor Burhanna has shown fearless leadership while inspiring and motivating us as future nurses! She demonstrates a caring heart, patience, and equal treatment of all people. She coordinated numerous COVID-19 vaccine clinics from spring throughout the summer collaborating with Portage County Health Department, Kent State nursing faculty, Kent State nursing students, and numerous volunteers. Taryn Burhanna has exemplified a true nursing leadership role model for us as students to reference throughout our careers. I want to thank her for her investment in our future as nurses!
