Tatiana is an invaluable role model, for years she has prioritized bedside nursing care, ensuring each of her patients is turned cleaned and pampered before bed. She fosters this care with her team and utilizing aides and nurses and includes them in the moment by moment plan of care. She is respected by all. She plays this role with all the patients on the nursing unit, addressing call bells and admissions, and plays a team leader role even when she is not charge nurse. Others look to her for advice, feedback, and guidance with skills. This is a reputation that she is not faltered in. When she is communicating with pharmacy, bed management, supervisor, etc., she demonstrates and encourages healthy communication. She has been pursuing her BSN, and often fills the unit need by working extra shifts and extra weekends and even helps on other units. Talk about a team player. With her knowledge and understanding of the hospital system, protocols, and patient care, she is an invaluable teacher to all in all things. She fills every unit role and is always calm, empathetic and informative to visitors. Not once has Tatiana every backed away from helping in any task, big or small.
Tatiana is typically the first one in the room of almost every unit admission, and she then directly focuses on patient care and need, while talking to the family about acute and chronic concerns. She is soothing yet determined. Typically, she has looked up relevant details to the patient's plan of care and orders and asks probing questions to encourage all team members to provide the most skilled care. This is the example she sets on a DAILY basis. Team player is too cliché a term for her. She is invaluable and should have been recognized sooner, but I think we are all so accustomed to her exceptional care, that we have been blinded by what is blatantly before us.
