On multiple occasions, Tavia has helped out patients not only get better physically, but mentally as well. She helped boost their moods and confidence by doing something we all do ourselves every day. Tavia took the time to make a patient feel better by styling their hair. On more than one occasion, Tavia has come in on her day off to accomplish this. Most recently, Tavia, in her personal time, researched a hairstyle for an African American patient. Tavia watched YouTube videos and studied hair products that she needed.

Tavia spent a decent amount of time styling this patient's hair. Every time someone walked past this patient's room, she would receive compliments about her new hairstyle. The patient would instantly brighten up with a smile. This act of service and kindness truly makes a difference in our patients' lives. This particular patient had been here for over two weeks and was starting to sleep more and more. Because of Tavia, the patient's mood was elevated, and mentally she felt better.
