Tawana's safe, professional and collegial patient care for my husband as he was treated for a very serious condition was evident during his week long stay in St. Mary's Hospital. She was repeatedly called on to replace his IV due to the patient's attempts to pull it out. She was composed throughout and handled each situation with care and professionalism. Most of all she handled her tasks with humility and humanity. Tawana's focus on the patients in her care is remarkable. She manages her work duties with compassion, collegiality and care. No task is too large or too small for her commitment to safe and professional care. She is an amazing and dedicated professional who is deserving of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
