I was unable to get it through the IV and the pill was difficult to swallow, she came up with a solution to help me digest it easily. She dissolved the pill in orange juice and it was digestible.
I was very fortunate to have received excellent patient care from a special registered nurse who meets all of the criteria. She immediately made me feel comfortable in this unfamiliar environment. She assured me I was going to be okay. She was attentive to my inquiries about the medication she was to administer. She explained clearly the reason potassium was necessary and how it affects body functions. She gave me examples of how potassium levels are important. She even compared potassium and magnesium so I was made aware of the need to have good levels of potassium and calcium, etc. Then, since I was unable to get it through the IV and the pill was difficult to swallow, she came up with a solution to help me digest it easily. She dissolved the pill in orange juice and it was digestible. I said to myself "Who does this?" I concluded, definitely, she was 100%! After thanking her, I wanted to share this with others. Such care, concern, compassion for others makes her a part of a special group.
