Nurse Tawny was assigned to my son, who is 7 with his first major trauma injury. He was hit in the head at his baseball game with a bat Wednesday night, he was brave but very scared of what would happen in the hospital. Once we met Tawny, she immediately was kind, silly, very understanding, and gentle. She made sure to explain to him what she was going to do before she did it and let him look at things. She reassured him multiple times he was safe and so very brave. Tawny even went out of her way to ask the doctor to change the thread to blue instead of black as he stated to her blue was his favorite color. Tawny held his hand throughout his suture placement. My family and I are truly appreciative of the caring heart she put into taking care of my son, especially after being through an incident like that.
