Taylor made you feel seen, heard, and respected—which is not only healing, but empowering. This kind of emotional safety is vital during labor, especially for a first-time mother.
I’m honored to nominate Taylor for the DAISY Award for the exceptional care she provided during the birth of my first child. From the moment she walked into the room, Taylor made me feel truly seen, heard, and respected. She went above and beyond to ensure my labor and delivery experience was as smooth and positive as possible.
When the fetal monitor was causing discomfort and not picking up accurately, Taylor listened to my concerns without hesitation. She explored different strategies to help me feel more comfortable while ensuring my baby was safely monitored. Her problem-solving and patient-centered approach made all the difference.
What stood out most was Taylor's unwavering empathy. She never judged me for my size, but instead treated me with dignity, compassion, and understanding. Even a year later, her kindness remains one of the most meaningful parts of my birth story. She reminded me that I deserve to ask questions, advocate for myself, and that there are always options worth exploring—even when other providers might offer only short answers.
I’m endlessly grateful that Taylor was part of my delivery team. She made an incredible impact on my experience, and I’ll never forget the care she gave me during such an important moment in my life. 1. Emotional Support and Empowerment - Taylor made you feel seen, heard, and respected—which is not only healing, but empowering. This kind of emotional safety is vital during labor, especially for a first-time mother. It gave you the confidence to speak up, ask questions, and be an active participant in your care. 2. Physical Comfort and Safety - By listening to your concerns and adjusting the monitoring process, Taylor improved both your physical comfort and your baby’s safety. Her flexibility and problem-solving ensured that your needs were met without compromising medical care. 3. Affirmation of Body Positivity and Compassionate Care - Her nonjudgmental, empathetic approach toward your body and experience left a deep emotional imprint. That kind of care combats shame and reinforces dignity—something that’s too often missing in healthcare, especially around weight or appearance. 4. A Lasting Standard of Care - Taylor's actions didn’t just impact your delivery—they raised your expectations for what care should look like. You now know it’s okay to challenge dismissive responses and to expect more from providers. That shift in mindset can positively influence every healthcare interaction you have in the future. 5. Inspiration for Advocacy - By showing you that other paths and options exist, Taylor helped plant the seed for self-advocacy. Her example may not only impact your future care decisions but could also inspire you to advocate for others—by sharing your story, supporting fellow parents, or even nominating her for this award.
