She is engaged and curious. She is reading and learning about our patients, the treatments, and I'm thankful that she feels comfortable asking questions or suggesting therapies.
Taylor is an Extraordinary Nurse. We manage very complex patients experiencing headache pain, and with her as part of the team, I believe we really make a difference in our patients' lives. On numerous occasions, families have asked if Taylor is available so that they can express their appreciation to her regarding their communications in Epic and phone calls. Taylor often goes above and beyond for our patients- for example, she is always willing and able to review devices (such as Cefaly or Nerivio) with families, and she advocates with me against insurance companies that may not want to cover specific medications. For one of our epilepsy patients, the family had been paying out of pocket for almost a year on a medication that should be covered. I saw how hard she worked to make sure this medication was covered, and the family was so appreciative. She is engaged and curious. She is reading and learning about our patients, the treatments, and I'm thankful that she feels comfortable asking questions or suggesting therapies. Sometimes our patients are in crisis and need a migraine infusion- she helps coordinate that for our patients.

Another facet that speaks to her dedication and care is how she works with our families, where English is not their first language. She uses reading back techniques, helps to make sure the AVS is translated into their language, and will even have planned reminders to check in on patients to see how things are going. Our patients feel cared for because of her attention to detail, and she is such an important part of the team. She is an excellent and thoughtful colleague, and I look forward to working with her every day.
