February 2022 Honoree
Taylor Pisk, BSN, RN
Taylor was nominated by a family member of a patient on Telemetry. Taylor was attending to my mother for2 days. On the first afternoon, my mother finished her oatmeal for lunch after 2 pm. I was with her, and she began choking and turning red and purple-eventually blue; I asked for help when she began choking. She had all sorts of help, and Taylor called for a Rapid Response. My mother survived with all the attention she received. Then, the next afternoon, my mother needed a foley due to urine retention. Taylor and others needed assistance doing the straight cath due to a pessary Mom has in place. Taylor was aware of mom’s pain and began trying to find someone from urology to help. She finally got a nurse practitioner who was able to do the cath. Bravo to Taylor for always making sure Mom received care quickly. She has made a difference. She’s an amazing nurse-capable and caring.
Thank you, Taylor, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
