April 2026 Honoree
Taylor Smoot, BSN RN
Being a patient who’s been in and out of the hospital and has had multiple brain surgeries, having Taylor there as my nurse always calms the anxiety and fear that I may feel. I was going through a really rough time because I had been stuck multiple times trying to get an IV but wasn’t having any luck. Taylor came into my room to check on me, as she always does. I was crying, explaining how frustrated, sad, and angry I was, but Taylor came, sat down, and made me feel like a person, not just a patient, but as a human being that needs not just physical care but physical care with empathy. She listened to me; she hugged me while I was crying, and it made things so much better. She always finds a way to make my hospital stays pleasant.
Thank you, Taylor, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
