Taylor was Mother's nurse the first night we were in the hospital, and took such wonderful care of her during the 12 hours he was on duty. It was a tough night, and we thought that we were going to lose her several times. Taylor was right on top of everything and in constant communication with her physician regarding her care. He was well-prepared to take care of her, knowledgeable, and willing to spend all the time it took to explain things to us that we may not have understood otherwise.
In addition to being a wonderful nurse, Taylor was unbelievably caring and compassionate. He would call up to the unit on his day off just to check on her, which was impressive. Even more impressive, though was Tuesday night. We placed Mother on Hospice care on that night, and fully expected for her not to make it but a few more hours. Taylor sent a message to my Daughter-in-Law, inquiring about how Mother was doing, and she let him know what was going on. Taylor expressed his sympathy for our family, which was very heartfelt and sincere, and we thought that was very sweet. Approximately 30 minutes after this conversation, we look in the doorway, and there stands Taylor in his street clothes, on his night off. He wanted to come by and offer his condolences and support, and we were aware that he chose to do this, leaving his family at home, on a night when he was not scheduled to work. Thank you dear Taylor, for everything you did for Mother and for our family. Your kindness means so much to us.
