Taylor was walking on a treadmill at the Hancock Wellness Center in Greenfield when she heard someone calling for help nearby. When she got to the basketball court, she saw a young man lying on the gym floor. Moments before, he had been playing basketball with friends. He seemed to be having a seizure, but then made a sound and stopped breathing. True to her nurse’s training, she assessed the patient and, feeling no pulse, started CPR.

Fortunately, there was also a police officer on site who brought the AED. Shocks were delivered to the young man, and his pulse returned. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. Taylor is an amazing nurse. She is often a Charge Nurse and is always available to assist other staff members. She is compassionate and devoted to providing excellent care for her patients. Her devotion to being an excellent nurse is admirable. It took courage to step up and help someone in distress outside the “safety” of the work setting of the hospital. She is an excellent example of HRH L.O.V.E promise in action.
