September 2020 Honoree
taylor whitten, RN
A visitor came into the hallway having difficulty breathing. The unit clerk noticed the visitor and said "choking?" Taylor heard the unit clerk say that word. Taylor saw the visitor and began performing the Heimlich maneuver. Several co-workers gathered around to offer assistance. A ½ piece of chewed roast beef soon exited the visitor's mouth and he could breathe again. She literally saved the visitor's life. (P.S. the visitor's spouse was in a procedure).
Thank you, Taylor, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
