This is my second time to this unit, and everyone from Housekeeping to the many nurses who took care of me was great. On Thursday, I became very sick first in the morning with what was thought to be a PE or MI. Rapid was called, and I was transported to CT scan with 2 wonderful nurses who stayed with me when I was so scared. I was returned to my room, and things settled down. Then at shift change, which by the way is the worst part of the day for staff, my blood pressure dropped. I was diaphoretic, cold, and once again scared that this was the end. Nora was my nurse, pulled from another unit, and she stayed with me. The charge nurse, Sheila, came to help, and another rapid was called. Fluids were given, and I stabilized. The staff as a team watched me throughout the night, never complaining and always passionate with their care. I truly believe if it weren't for this wonderful 5 East staff, I might have had to go to the ICU or maybe a more final resting place.
