"The accomplishments at LMCBC on a daily basis should not be a surprise to anyone affiliated with the hospital. Team ICP is comprised of a number of outstanding individuals from different backgrounds and experiences, an outstanding recipe for a team. Often, we do not get to see the indirect results of our caring and effort because most patients will leave the hospital, not to be heard from again. This was not the case for a patient that our team cared for recently.

This patient was admitted to the hospital on two separate occasions, first for shortness of breath and then for abdominal pain. During the second admission of about a week, we had the greatest impact through care and education. He credited our team for changing his life and this was the driving force for the DAISY Team Award. We developed a relationship with this patient that continues today. This award will be an enduring reminder of how a great team can change one life at a time."
