Tegan has done a phenomenal job of supporting patients and families, especially during a busy and challenging year with a pandemic. She takes the time to make sure she is present and engaged with each patient and family she interacts with during her day.
Recently, she was supporting a patient who had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and was in a Special Isolation Unit. In that unit, patients are having fewer interactions with staff because of their isolation precautions. Tegan acknowledged that this was a very isolating and lonely scenario for many of our patients. She took the time to sit with a teenage girl and play a game with her. Tegan was able to make the patient smile during her shift and bring joy to the bedside.
