I had Whipple surgery at NUY-Langone. Upon returning to my room for recovery, I had many nurses on different shifts. Unfortunately, my recovery was not a straight line, and, (as many who are familiar with Whipple Surgery know), I needed extensive care for the following two weeks.

During the days when T was my nurse, she was amazing! Always happy, always strong and firm while still being gentle and flexible when possible. And competent beyond… with so many issues arising and schedule changes associated with the same, she would organize, prioritize, and do it with ease. At my request, she started every shift by reviewing what was on the agenda for the day and would answer my questions compassionately and thoughtfully.

Thankfully for me, all issues were resolved and I am a healthy, active 65-year-old who enjoys his family, hockey, golf, and the beach. I truly believe that T has so much to do with my recovery and healing and would love to recognize her.
