"TeKira is by far one of the most supportive leaders I've worked with! My first few days on this unit had me leaning on her ALOT for clarity and safety as I acclimated. I found her consistently patient and knowledgeable. She also took it upon herself to foresee my needs and delegated certain tasks to others to assist in taking the load off me and decrease the stress I was experiencing initially when settling in. She literally has the utmost respect for her team and can navigate through day-to-day issues, all while encouraging through her example. The team-oriented environment I have come to know and love here is the norm. She is a TRUE nurse leader. She "walks it" as she "talks it." "She is always helpful and kind. She embodies a leader." "Well, I don't have a story about patient care because I am a floor tech, but what I do have is that she is sweet, kind, & understanding. She always showed me that she appreciates what I do, and that means the world to me. She is more than just an OC to me; she is a good friend." "I remember having a patient situation that I was unable to make the doctors understand the severity of the patient's condition change. TeKira was willing to step in and be an advocate for the patient as well as me. She did not make me feel incompetent, nor did she make me feel overwhelmed. She was willing to assist with the communication with the doctors and patient care. We were able to get the patient transferred to ICU safely.
