She cares for her staff, and she fights for her staff. She ensures that we have what we need to do our job. Plus, she is a great listener. No matter what she is doing, if we need her, she is there for us, and that goes if it is personal, too. She goes above and beyond in her services for her staff and the patients.
Temeka is not only a fantastic nurse manager who will go above and beyond for her employees; she always does what is in the best interest of the veterans. No matter what she is going through, she always has a smile and is willing to help or find out who can help. It is a pleasure to work with her every day.

Temeka is the most outstanding nurse manager. We love her! She has been the best thing that has happened to primary care. She cares for her staff, and she fights for her staff. She ensures that we have what we need to do our job. Plus, she is a great listener. No matter what she is doing, if we need her, she is there for us, and that goes if it is personal, too. She goes above and beyond in her services for her staff and the patients. We want to recognize her for all our appreciation. I am glad to have her as our boss. Thank you, Temeka, for all you do. We love her!

I would like to nominate Temeka Perry for helping to get the ICTs in primary care. The ICTs in primary care must be adequately trained, and education must be part of the training, and it must be completed and understood for all aspects of our job. Temeka assisted in getting the ICTs to be able to give vaccines.

Temeka is an excellent nurse; she goes beyond helping staff and the veterans. She is new to the VA, and I appreciate her. Anytime I have a question or concern, she is always available to help and guide me in making the right decision. In one instance, I was having a busy day screening for two providers, and a patient at the desk requested to talk to me. I saw the patient, thinking it would be a quick intervention, but I wasn't. The RN on the team was unavailable, but the patient was very frustrated and had a lot of issues. I saw Temeka in the hallway and told her what was happening. Temeka took over and met the veteran in the hallway. He ended up being very happy with how Temeka had helped him. I was very grateful for how she took over helping me. We need more like Temeka for the sake of the veterans and the staff. She is deserving of an award. Keep up the excellent job, Temeka.

Perry has demonstrated the ICARE principles since she started working in Primary Care. She is sincere, fair, and not biased. She is trustworthy, not only to the staff but to the veterans. She is committed to serving the veterans and ensuring their needs are met. I remember an incident in which a veteran needed immediate help. Once this writer notified her, she didn't hesitate. She reached out to the veteran and took the proper safety measures, and now the veteran is pleased, appreciative, and relaxed. This is just one of the many things Ms. Perry has done and continues to do. She advocates for the patients and respects them, their families, and the staff. She doesn't abuse her power as a manager. Her doors are always open to the staff and veterans to discuss work-related issues. She's always welcoming and open to recommendations and ideas to improve primary and patient care. Ms. Perry is not an intimidating boss. She is very humble. When she is called into the room to see patients, she is very professional and friendly to the veteran, to the point that they are relaxed and open to discussing whatever is bothering them. She is a model for us to work together to provide the veterans with quality care and to meet their needs. She deserves this because I have observed her character and passion for our veterans and for making primary care a place I have always wanted to come to. She is awesome.
