My mother was admitted to Chesapeake General this summer. I, her youngest daughter, spent the night with her because she has Alzheimer's and was very uncomfortable about being in a place where she did not know anyone. She was so worked up that her primary care doctor ordered Respiradol to be given with her supper. This was followed by her steroid shot and her inhaler. This combo sent my mother over the deep end. She became very emotional, combative, and suspicious of everyone. Temmy saw what was going on and came into my mother's room and sat down beside her and held her hand while placing her other arm around her. Within 10 minutes she had my mother calmed down and settled with the idea of staying overnight. Temmy told my mother and I that she would check on us every hour but if we needed her before then to please let her know. Of course, we needed her several more times that night to help calm my mother down. Each time we asked for her she came immediately and worked her "magic" on my mother. The amount of patience, love, tenderness, and smiles she showed my mother that night was never-ending. I have never seen a nurse take so much time with one patient and seem to truly love what she is doing. In my opinion Temmy is the most passionate nurse I have ever seen in all of my life thus far.
