A patient's son came to me because he wanted a very special nurse to be recognized, Tempest Thomas. His mom is dying and they are going home with hospice tomorrow. He stated Tempest went out of her way to be extra kind to his mom and listen to her. She stood out because she did something that went beyond what was required of her. She clocked out and sat with his mom after working all day. She stayed until another family member could make it and that meant a lot to them.
