"Immediately, Tenice was attentive and reassuring."
My 86-year-old father wants everyone to know about an amazing nurse – Tenice Davis. We came into Bon Secours from the ER after being discharged from a rehab center. Twelve days before that, following a bad fall, my father came in with a severe infection in the foot and battling issues with blood pressure. Immediately, Tenice was attentive and reassuring. My father needed IV antibiotics around the clock and she would check them and saline multiple times, long before it began to beep. Not once did my dad have to push the red button for assistance.

Tenice was in checking on him, monitoring him, making sure he was not sliding in the bed, and much more. I was by my dad’s side and witnessed all of this. Even as she was walking by to attend to her other rooms, she would pop in and ask if she could get us anything at all, and would make it happen. When there was no ice cream on the floor she called the café’ and found some for my dad. These little caring acts go so far on top of what nurses are already responsible for.

What impressed me so much was when his mood changed on a dime and he told Tenice he had a headache. She immediately checked the vitals and found that my dad’s blood pressure had gone up rapidly after being low. She e-messaged the doctor, administered liquid form medication, and resolved the problem.

After finding out that my dad needed amputation, she messaged the surgeon to see when they would be coming to meet us so that I could be ready. I assumed by her confidence, knowledge, and bedside manner she had been nursing for a while but found out it's only been about a year. I am so thankful for Tenice!
