Tenzin 100% deserves this award! I had an extremely minor procedure that ended up giving me a severe allergic reaction in PACU. Tenzin was there for me in every way possible. His quick thinking probably helped save my life (this sounds dramatic, but it is true!) Tenzin was by my side through it all, including the second I started having the allergic reaction. He took my complaints very seriously and got me the help I needed right away. Compassionate Care: He was so in tune with my needs and was always one step ahead in trying new ideas. He was gentle. He was very sensitive about the procedure I just had and also kept that pain aspect in the picture as well as my allergic reaction. Plus, he was always willing to answer any and every question I had. If he was unsure, he got me answers! Communication: He was constantly in contact with the anesthesia team about important updates and wasn't afraid to advocate for my needs. He was also always in touch with his fellow PACU team about everything. He was also in contact with my family about updates to my care (my family really appreciated this). Positive Attitude: Tenzin always had a positive attitude about the situation and not once was he negative. He was also so confident which really put me at ease during this scary situation. Patient Advocacy: He listened to me. When I would make small comments about ideas he was right there listening and communicating them to my team. He was a very important bridge in my care and exactly who I needed on my team during that time. Teamwork: It was a group effort during a scary situation, but Tenzin was helping drive the boat and making sure everything was going as smoothly as possible. I cannot thank Tenzin enough for all that he did! He was an extremely important person in my care team that day that I didn't know I would need. He is the whole DAISY award and MORE! He absolutely went above and beyond for my care and honestly safety that day. Thank you, Tenzin for being you and being amazing!
