February 2024 Honoree
Tera L Motel, RN
I am nominating Tera on behalf of my family. We lost my Bubba. My Bubba arrived at the ER with her husband, my Pop, and my Aunt. She had breast cancer, was being treated for a UTI, and had unfortunately gone septic along with some other complications. She was taken to the ICU and, unfortunately, passed away.
My family was so grateful and appreciative of the care they received from all the staff in the ER and ICU, especially Tera. She had a student with her, and my Aunt said she was an amazing teacher and explained everything they were doing and going to do very thoroughly. She was compassionate and explained everything to my Aunt and Pop so they understood what was going on and what was going to happen. They were very pleased with her care and compassion during a time that was very scary and heartbreaking knowing there was not much time for our Bubba left. She explained everything clearly, and they were able to communicate everything to us, especially those in the medical profession. I know my Bubba would have been very appreciative and nominated her for this award also. She spent years as a volunteer for Mercy and Conemaugh, and I would have wanted her to be honored for the care she provided to her and other patients. It would be great to see Tera get recognized for her exceptional care and compassion during a difficult time.

Thank you, Tera L, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
