December 2023 Honoree
Terah Baker, RN
We celebrate Terah's extraordinary nursing care—care that embodies the values of skill, compassion, and dedication. The DAISY Award is a heartfelt acknowledgment of nurses who are compassionate, mentor their colleagues, and foster an environment of compassionate care. Here is the nomination information leading to Terah’s selection as a DAISY Award Honoree:
One of many examples of how Terah goes above and beyond for her patients is that she regularly spends her own money on personal hygiene supplies for our patients on TNI…specifically, she buys brushes, combs, hair ties, detangler spray, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. While these may seem like trivial items, for our patients who are bed-bound for many days, they can mean the difference between losing a head of hair to a mess of tangles and matted blood and keeping that hair. For many of our patients, especially females, this small gesture provides them some dignity and sense of self during a time that is otherwise unbelievably challenging. Terah has been a nurse for many years and continues to provide excellent care for her patients and coworkers. She cares deeply for people.
