I came into the hospital for an external lower abdominal hysterectomy. I also have multiple other medical issues, most obvious is my gait impairment. I met Teramed when he came on shift Saturday night. I was struggling with pain that night but still had a bit of a smile on my face. He commented on my smile and later came back to inquire how I could smile through my pain. That act alone showed me that he has a very genuine concern and rapport for and with his patients. He also demonstrated the ability to assist but also help maintain an individual's personal integrity, meaning that I was never made to feel as if I was any more fragile than I needed to be. As well, that I was an interruption to his duties.
The professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine personal care to each of Teramed's patients that I could hear and experience myself compelled me to make a point of highlighting him as a stand out person during my stay.
