Teresa had the pleasure of working for the IV Team on Christmas Eve. She began her shift at 1 pm and was to end her shift at 1:30 am on Christmas morning. At 12:50 pm she received a call from the Emergency Department. They said that they had a child who was coming into the ED from the Children's Home with a broken Broviac. Since the PRN staff was given this time off for the holiday, there would be no one who was trained in Broviac repair after she left at 1:30 am. The AOD asked her if she would mind staying until the child arrived to repair the line. She did so without question. The child did not arrive to the ED until 2:30 am and then needed to proceed through the process of triage and admission. The repair was done although it was not an easy repair. By the time that Teresa completed the process and documentation, it was 4:50 am when she left. This shows the dedication that Teresa displays each time that she comes to work here at Children's. She gave up valuable time of her own on Christmas Eve to stay and help this child.
