While in the hospital he was so disheartened because he had missed a special family gathering that he had been looking forward to for a month, Teresa brought him in a penguin (which is his favorite animal), a Lego set, and a nerf basketball hoop.
My son had a bad seizure and was under sedation for the first 2 days we were at the hospital. Teresa came in and would check to make sure he was okay, dry, and nothing else needed to be changed, etc. Yes, this is what a Nurse is supposed to do but she did it with so much compassion and love for her patient it re-assured me that my son was going to be well cared for. It is close to Christmas time and not knowing if we would get to go home and see his Christmas tree, Teresa brought him a Christmas tree to decorate himself. While in the hospital he was so disheartened because he had missed a special family gathering that he had been looking forward to for a month, she brought him in a penguin (which is his favorite animal), a Lego set, and a nerf basketball hoop. Made his day right then and there. My son is doing great and will be ok, we plan to go home soon. I feel deep in my heart Ms. Teresa Jones, RN on PICU had so much to do with that. I can't thank her enough for going beyond her line of duty to watch over my son and me while he was on her unit. Even after we were moved to the floor off ICU, she came and checked on him every day. She is an exceptional Nurse who deserves the acknowledgment! Thank you more than you will ever know.
