...I need to comment on Terri's compassion and willingness to help families in their darkest hour. Terri often volunteers to take on the tough cases in the NICU; the ones where the baby is not expected to survive. She supports families by helping them understand and prepare for their baby's passing. As a mother who has experienced the loss a child, I can attest that a compassionate, caring nurse can help so much with how to say goodbye, how to remember the precious moments you share and where to find support to cope with the overwhelming grief.

People often say losing a child must be the worst...yes, it is. I have seen first-hand the connection Terri shares with families because she consistently volunteers to help with our Fox Valley Family Memorial Service. Her kind words and gentle touch are much needed solace for families as they remember and celebrate the life of their child.

Terri inspires other nurses to go above and beyond for families and each other. She is a strong mentor, educator and supporter of staff and families.
