Teresa had been caring for one of our veterans for some time doing weekly dressing changes that were lengthy and time consuming. Additionally, this veteran sometimes came to the clinic more than once a week. Teresa was always calm and professional while trying to help this patient with very complex leg ulcers. No matter her schedule, she always had time for him and built a trusting relationship with him.
This veteran's leg ulcers were not improving and Teresa helped this veteran make a critical decision to go to St. Cloud VA. We did not have a provider in the clinic at this time. The patient went to Urgent Care, then to Podiatry, and then was admitted to the St. Cloud Hospital. This veteran called Teresa after a couple days of being admitted and thanked her for saving his leg. Had he waited for his regularly scheduled appointment, the doctor at the St. Cloud Hospital said this patient would have lost his leg. Teresa deserves to be recognized for her diligence and care.
