Teresa was the day nurse that took exceptional care of my husband, while he was in for a pacemaker operation. Unfortunately, I was out of town when he was hospitalized and couldn't fly back until 11 pm. My granddaughter took her grandfather to the hospital and stayed with him until I arrived. She told me that my husband had been particularly difficult with the nurses and tried to pull out his IV. She mentioned that Teresa seemed to be the only one who could calm him down. When I arrived, his conduct was abnormal. He was angry, disoriented and wanted to go home.
Teresa was always there to settle him down and say just the right words to make him cooperate. Seems like she was able to be in 3 places at one time because she was always there when we needed her. Her caring, compassion and her wonderful attitude - to say nothing of her extremely competent nursing care - set the entire family at ease during this difficult time.
Nursing duties are difficult enough, but when you have a difficult patient, the job is 10 times more arduous. Teresa's dedication to her job and her patients was obvious and had to be tiring, but she always had a smile on her face. I never saw her when she didn't ask if she could do something for us.
Hospital stays are never pleasant, but if you must be there, you pray that you have a "Teresa" nurse looking after you. She was a godsend, and we thank her for her extraordinary efforts.
