May 2024 Honoree
Teresa Strickland, RN
Teresa Strickland has only been in Stepdown for a short time but has been with Methodist since 2009. She has a huge heart, smiles often, and sings as she completes tasks. On her way to work this week, Teresa spotted a guy crawling across Covington Pike in the middle of the road. Cars were dodging him and going around, not Teresa. She called work to tell them she was going to be a few minutes late. She went and parked her car and got the help of 2 NAs. They went and got the gentleman and placed him in a wheelchair, and took him to the ED. There was a Methodist WC at the bus stop where the gentleman had been sitting. The ED was familiar with the patient, and they had recently released him. He could have been killed or badly injured if Teresa had not stopped and helped. Many people just ignored him and kept going.
Thank you, Teresa, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
