I am a patient with the MVAHCS. Terri Hathaway has been my home health nurse for several months. I wanted to let you know how valuable Terri has been in facilitating my health care needs. Terri has been a staunch advocate, both clinically and as a support. She ensured that my medications were up to date and sorted and coordinated the care I needed from specialists, physical therapists, and health aides. She regularly updated my children on my health and was a tremendous support to me while transitioning into assisted living. Terri has played a role in our family; she was our ‘go-to’ whenever we had concerns. She was always available to listen without judgment in a compassionate, respectful manner, and followed through immediately with whatever I needed. Terri didn’t just take care of my medical needs, she was there for my overall well-being, always ready to lend support. To me, this was above and beyond her job. Terri is an exceptional nurse and a valuable asset to the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.
