Although Terri has been working as an operations auditor in our billing department she has not forgotten that she is a nurse first! On a cold, rainy morning this past winter Terri was on her way to the office when she noticed a woman lying under the bench in front of the hospital. She tried to offer a blanket and noticed the woman was soaking wet and nonresponsive. She called 911 for assistance. Like many of us, Terri could have ignored what she saw, "a homeless" person sleeping where they shouldn't and making the community look bad. Terri consciously chose to show compassion and respect for human life. Terri's selfless actions gave this individual a fighting chance. If she did not make it, at least her final days were in a warm bed and being cared for by more compassionate people, and not alone.
