I remember tearing up when I saw Terri walk through the door to my daughter’s room. I felt this huge relief knowing that my baby girl was going to be taken care of and I didn't have to worry or advocate for her care while Terri was there.
I've had the opportunity to see Terri in action twice within the past 18 months. Both times she went above and beyond to care for two people very near and dear to me. First, my mom was in a horrific car accident in February, and then again with my daughter who had to have a brain tumor removed. When Terri walked into the room for the first time when my mom was in the hospital, I knew immediately that there was something very different about her. The compassion and patience she showed were stellar and something I hadn't seen from any of the other nurses during her stay. She took the time to listen not only to my mom but also to anyone who was in the room so she could provide my mom with the proper treatment or consult with the trauma doctors on the next steps.

My daughter had a brain tumor that was removed in June. Due to the delicate nature of her surgery, along with the pandemic, this was a scary time. I stayed with her during her entire stay. We were moved from the Trauma/Surgical ICU, where I was extremely happy with her care, over to Tower 3. I remember tearing up when I saw Terri walk through the door to my daughter’s room. I felt this huge relief knowing that my baby girl was going to be taken care of and I didn't have to worry or advocate for her care while Terri was there. As with my mom, Terri was very attentive and always listened. In both situations, Terri not only advocated for my mom and my daughter but also encouraged them. They both had been through very different traumatic situations and needed positive words to put their minds at ease, and Terri had them at the perfect time. Regardless of what may have been going on in her personal life, she never once made my mom, my daughter, or anyone in the room feel like they were not the most important person on the planet.
