Terri Wesener, BSN, RN

Terri is someone I will never forget. During my recent 5-day stay in 67 years of existence here on earth, Terri eased my nervousness by always checking on me and explaining in great detail every test that was being performed, the results of each test that was being performed, and the results of each test. She even printed information for me to read so that I could stay well informed on my condition. I observed Terri assisting other workers and patients, even though she had her own workload. Terri is very detail-oriented in her work and patient care. She always checked on me at the start of her shift and before she left to go home for the day.

We shared some common people that we knew, as well as some places in the community. She shared an upcoming vacation that she and her husband were going on. On her last day of work, before leaving on that vacation, I found out that I could possibly be discharged. Terri had 1.5 hours before her shift ended, but she worked relentlessly on my case to get me discharged before she left for the day. She could have been focused on her vacation, but she wasn’t. She was focused on getting me home where I wanted to be. In the end, we both got what we wanted. Terri made my first hospital stay a positive experience that I will never forget.
