Working with Terrie Good in D-pod, we had a young woman who was severely ill. Once we made sure she was stabilized, Terrie went in and made sure the patient’s bed and room were spotless. Even though there were not any family members there at the time, Terrie treated the patient as if they were present. Many times we have a patient that we work hard to stabilize and forget how things look when family or friends come in. Terrie always makes sure that the patient has the best care and then she provides a sense of care, comfort, compassion, and competency that the families so often do not feel in this kind of hectic environment. She is a role model for all staff with her vast knowledge; she is constantly looked to for help and advice. When she is working the staff feel they have a support person to go to. That includes doctors, nurses, and charge nurses. Terrie is a wonderful nurse and person. Her skills and personality reflect this in all she does at the bedside for her patients.
