Terry Barbour, LPN

I am truly wowed by the unselfish act of kindness I witnessed by our nurse, Terry Barbour. She had a gentleman who had not been clean in some time, and Terry treated him with dignity and respect, helping to clean him up. She discussed the importance of hygiene and how it affects his condition. The patient was highly appreciative of all the help Terry provided. After the patient left, Terry was in tears. It brings to mind Philippians 2:3-4: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others". With everyone looking out for everyone else's interests more than their own, no one would be in need. Carilion is lucky to have a nurse who puts others above herself.
