September 2018 Honoree
terry mengel, RN
My wife underwent major surgery in July. She then spent several days in the surgery recovery unit. Several staff took care of her but the one who stood out was Terry Mengel from Inpatient Oncology.
She was our nurse for 3 nights in July. It is the nights when it can become overwhelming and scary for the patient and the caregiver. My wife had a "cough pillow" that Terry took the time to sign. During the night Terry was at my wife's side constantly doing her job. She took the time to talk to us and explain things and answer questions. She even took the time to ask about a movie we were watching. It sounds silly but little things like that are big to me. We felt she really cared.

Thank you, Terry, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
