Tesia Derra, MA, MSN, RN

Tesia Derra is an excellent part-time faculty member in the Marquette College of Nursing, teaching maternity clinicals to both undergraduates and students in the direct-entry master’s program. She steps up when we need someone to fill an opening, demonstrating her dedication to our nursing students and to the profession. She leads by example in her teaching, often sharing suggestions to improve student learning. Likewise, students always report that she both challenges and supports them. She utilizes her resources to always create the best learning opportunities – whether that’s connecting students to interesting shadow opportunities or offering engaging downtime activities. Tesia exemplifies what students love in a clinical instructor. She is equally passionate about teaching and maternity nursing and is highly deserving of a DAISY award.
