Tess could see that I was struggling and took the time to try and connect with me.
Tess was my 2-month-old son's nurse for a few days during our stay at Seattle Children's. We were admitted to the hospital through the ER and ended up staying for over a week. As a new, breastfeeding, mom, I did not leave my son's side very much. In fact, there was one stint where I didn't even leave my half of our shared hospital room for over 48 hours. To say that I was stressed, anxious, sad, frustrated, and tired are all understatements. While we had multiple nurses throughout our stay, Tess was one of the only ones who seemed to not only check on my son but also check in with me. She could see that I was struggling and took the time to try and connect with me when she'd come into our room. She would always try to answer my questions and make sure that I had what I needed. She made my experience more bearable and I appreciate her compassion. Thank you, Tess!
