Tessa was the nurse for my wife and newborn baby. Her knowledge and coaching are truly phenomenal. She described the mechanics of breastfeeding in a way that I could follow and apply after being discharged. The combination of her clinical skills and compassionate intuition is what makes her extraordinary. My wife was having trouble attempting to breastfeed with another lactation consultant, so she called Tessa into the room to help. As the process was not going as planned, my wife began to cry. Tessa had the tissue ready for her almost before I realized what was happening. She could see my wife’s frustration building, and Tessa was there to catch every tear. She identified an issue before it even occurred and anticipated the best way to provide compassionate care. She stayed with my wife for the ENTIRE feed, encouraging and guiding her. I cannot put into words how comforting she was to her. This is a level of personal compassion that I have never experienced from any other healthcare provider.  

I cannot express enough gratitude to Tessa for enabling us to be confident that we could be successful with breastfeeding at home. She clearly had an expectation for her care that included the whole person.  

Tessa is an exceptional nurse who lives up to the high standards she sets for herself. I am so grateful for her dedication to us and all her patients; we will never forget her.
