Tessa worked tirelessly to find a way to help the parents have a place to stay and, after lots of phone calls, arranged a room at Ronald McDonald House.
Tessa had a pediatric patient who was diagnosed with cancer during the course of their ED visit. The parents of the patient were worried about not having the means to drive to a transfer facility as well as having a place to stay when they arrived, all while worrying about the health of their child. Tessa worked tirelessly to find a way to help the parents have a place to stay and, after lots of phone calls, arranged a room at Ronald McDonald House. Tessa also advocated for help with transportation, arranging gas cards, and taking staff monetary contributions to donate to offset tolls and food for the first few days. All of this was accomplished while giving the patient and family emotional support and medical treatment. Thank you, Tessa, for always having the heart to go above and beyond to be sure your patients get the best care.
