I was induced with my son. I had wonderful nurses but Tessa stood out and made such an amazing impact on my birth story. Tessa came into our room in the morning. I was definitely having a bit of a freak-out moment that my labor wasn’t going how I had pictured it. Tessa was kind and understanding from the get-go. She made me feel comfortable and calm. She explained everything to me. She slowed it all down and went over the steps. She told me when something new would take place and the reason for it. She was so supportive during the whole day while my contractions increased.

Tessa shows confidence and strength and yet remains soft and kind. I trusted her and believed she was there for me. I was really impressed with her level of knowledge when it came to different positions. After delivery, I had a massive hemorrhage. Many people came into the room. I wasn’t always fully conscious and one nurse whispered, “We’re losing her.” Tessa said, “No, L is very stoic in these moments.” I don’t know why she said it because I don’t think she knew I could hear. I felt strong and capable in a moment that was very scary. Tessa believed I’d live and be fine. It meant so much to hear that. It made me less scared. It made me feel known. Tessa is the best!
