During my time in ICU, there was a lot of activity going on, all of it very confusing. What with the high CO2 levels and declining kidney function, I did not like being on the Bi-Pap machine. Dora came on shift in the simplest of terms possible explained the necessity of why I had to be on the machine, how it helped me. She explained how the CO2 was affecting my kidneys and respiratory system.
Dora didn't speak down to me. She made me feel like she really cared. The night I could not sleep she would pop in for 3-4 minutes at a time to keep me company and encourage me. She helped me to understand my condition, she encouraged me to do my treatments and made me want to do them. Dora made my stay more bearable. She truly deserves some sort of recognition. Dora is the best nurse I ever had!
Thank You Nurse Dora!
