When a woman's husband came in for brain surgery, Theora Lusk introduced herself to his wife and said she would be with the husband throughout the surgery. After the first surgery, the husband developed complications and had to go back into sugery. Theora reassured his wife that he was in great hands and the surgeons working on her husband were excellent. Even after she was done for the day, Theora stopped to check in on the patient and his wife and calmed their fears. To this family, Theora's compassionate care left an impression and exemplifies what it means to be a DAISY Honoree.
