I've witnessed her washing a patient's dirty feet and taking the time to shave a patient's face.
  • I have worked in my hospital for 5 years. I was in the pool and worked on almost every unit and with a good amount of nurses. I have never met a nurse that has stood out to me as exceptional until I moved to the PACU in November of 2020. It was there that I met Theresa Carroll. Theresa is everything that I aspire to be as a nurse. She goes above and beyond for her patients not just on occasion but on a consistent everyday basis. She has a wealth of knowledge and is always teaching and helping other nurses. She has a way of teaching that helps you without embarrassing you. I have watched her give back rubs, hold hands, and pray with patients. She has scrubbed the dirty feet of patients that aren't assigned to her while stating that you never know someone's situation. She is always willing to help coworkers and never fails to make her patients smile. If I can become half as kind, caring, and knowledgeable as Theresa it would be a blessing. There is no one who deserves to be recognized for being exceptional more than her!
  • I am a co-worker of TC (Theresa Carroll) in the Recovery Room. Due to patients waking up from anesthesia a lot of them do not remember the care they receive in our unit. TC is the best though. She is extremely attentive to her patients and goes above and beyond to ensure they are comfortable and have the best experience possible. She is very concerned with their physical comfort and always has extra blankets nearby to help with positioning. If her patient has been awake a while and is hungry she makes sure to get them nourishment even though that's not an easy task in our unit. She always keeps families informed of their loved one's condition. She works well with the whole team and is a wonderful asset to our unit.
  • I don't have one particular story to tell on how amazing a nurse and coworker Theresa Carroll is. Theresa is the type of nurse that goes above and beyond every day. I've witnessed her washing a patient's dirty feet and taking the time to shave a patient's face. We usually only have about an hour or two with patients while they recover and yet she always finds ways to make their time with her as easy as possible. Theresa is also the nurse who will assist her fellow co-workers without asking and is also the one who is willing to educate anyone willing to learn. It's difficult to describe the person and nurse Theresa is because her normal day is what all of us strive to be.
