Theresa recognized that there was reason for concern and stepped up as an advocate for his care.
Our 2-month-old son came to the pediatric ER with RSV. While the ER doctor and our pediatrician who sent us to the ER originally were unsure about the severity of his condition and whether or not to admit him, Theresa recognized that there was reason for concern and stepped up as an advocate for his care. She escalated his case, had him seen by the PICU doctors, and ultimately he was admitted to the PICU for a few days of intensive care.
She was also incredibly empathetic and caring, ensuring that our son was not only getting medical care but that his parents were feeling emotionally supported as well. All in all, when we think about our son and his experience, it is Theresa’s impeccable care that sticks out in our mind and we are truly unsure what would have happened without her advocating for what was best for him.
